18th Century Farm House

When Clague were enlisted this 18th century listed farmhouse was in a state of disrepair and was in dire need of updating and reordering if it was to make the most of its generous internal spaces and inspiring location.

The challenge

Clague’s brief was to completely reorder the interior, whilst still maintaining the historic character of this magnificent property. This involved the construction of three extensions and two bay windows, one of which was a traditional polygonal bay window in the kitchen. Additionally, the design called for the replacement of the existing conservatory with a glazed garden room.

Our solution

New services were installed, including subtle lighting features, modern networking facilities and underfloor heating. The sympathetic aesthetic was facilitated by a high standard of finish and detailing and particular attention was paid to the design of new joinery, including a new paneled entrance hall with secret gib door. After the initial project, Clague was again called upon to design a covered swimming pool for the property.
