Clague’s winning proposal presented a high quality, serviced office facility that could act as an ‘incubator’ for new and establishing businesses.

The Medway Innovation Centre commission was secured through a competitive design submission to Medway Council with Kier South East as the appointed design and build contractor.

The project was the second phase of a concept, instigated by Medway Council following the successful initial development within the BAE Rochester site.

Clague’s winning proposal presented a high quality, serviced office facility that could act as an ‘incubator’ for new and establishing businesses, in particular those that deal in new technologies.

The three storey masonry and glass facility acts as a gateway building.

The 30,000sq.ft Innovation Centre comprises modulated modern office spaces for small businesses, as well as a large, open plan second floor suite. The offices are supported by a permanently manned reception area and post room, plus a substantial café, a formal 75 seat business conference suite and a number of informal lounges.

The three storey masonry and glass facility acts as a gateway building, working within constraints dictated by the A229 and nearby Rochester Airport and has become a notable success leading to the adoption of wider development plans at Rochester Airport for The Innovation Park Medway (IPM).
