MEDWAY INOVATION CENTRE
The Medway Innovation Centre commission was secured through a competitive design submission for Medway Council with Kier South East as the appointed design and build contractor.
Clague appointed by Kier South East created this a high quality serviced office facility located immediately off the A229, approximately 2 miles from junction 3 of the M2 in Kent to provide an incubator facility for new and establishing innovative business primarily directed towards technologies. The Medway Innovation centre is the second phase of the concept, instigated by Medway Council, following the successful initial development within the BAE Rochester site.
The 30,000 sq ft Medway Innovation Centre comprises modulated, high quality, modern office space of 11, 25 and 50 sq m for small businesses, together with an open plan second floor suite totalling 935 sq m; devised for a blue chip tenant. The offices are fully supported by a permanently manned reception and post room. A large, communal, well appointed café, a formal 75 seat business conference suite and a number of informal business lounges provide networking and interaction opportunities to promote the sharing of knowledge essential for establishing businesses. The 3-storey masonry and glass facility has been designed as a gateway building on a tight budget whilst working within constraints dictated by the flight path of the adjacent Rochester Airport and noise of the A229.
