PARK INN HOTEL, CANTERBURY
Full planning approval has been granted for a masterplan centred around a new public entrance square, which provides a focus to the varied activities within and welcomes visitors. New business activity will be generated by a three/four-star 130-bedroom hotel, a health and fitness centre and a new stand alone conference centre, building upon & greatly expending the existing Colin Cowdry stand will provide facilities for for up to 300 delegates.
The design of the Park Inn at the Kent County Cricket Ground takes the form of a duel fronted building flowing round the pitches boundary with a central entrance leading into a restaurant, bar and lounge areas. A function bar with meeting rooms, syndicate rooms and break out spaces provide additional guest facilities. All areas of the ground floor enjoy access to the pitch side terrace and views across the historic cricket ground.
The Health and Leisure Club is integrated with the Hotel and has been designed over two floors with entrances from the public square and within the hotel. Facilities include a gym, swimming and changing areas with well being health and beauty treatment area.
Three floors provide the 130 bedroom accommodation with many enjoying terraces, balconies and pitch or cathedral views.
