Great progress is being made at Brissenden, a Grade II listed manor house in the Weald of Kent. A.T Palmer are halfway through the interior package of works and have just uncovered these Georgian shutters in the under-built Wealden Hall-house.
One of the basic principle of design, served vs serviced has been hotly debated with the clients, the Georgian shutters will now provide privacy between the utility room and the new dining room extension when the dining space is in use.
At Clague Architects we believe that Conservation allows us to understand and appreciate each layer of a historic building, rather than picking a point in time and announcing that we have restored the fabric!
