The project includes the construction of a new Sixth Form Centre, Canteen Building, expansion to the existing car park and highways improvements to improve pedestrian safety. The construction of the new Sixth Form Centre will free up existing spaces in the existing school buildings, enabling the existing sixth form spaces to be reconfigured to provide two science labs. An MMC methodology has been adopted for the construction of the Sixth Form Centre using Innovare’s i-Fast SIPs system.
The demolition of the existing dilapidated canteen, classroom block, ancillary outbuildings, and the removal of the temporary classrooms will free up more external spaces to be used as much needed informal social spaces within the school.
We have been working in collaboration with Baxall Construction, Kent County Council, Gravesend Grammar School, 3BM Planning, Fusion Project Management, Lloyd Bore, Innovare, Waldens Engineering, HOB Mechanical, Gilbert and Stamper, Wilson & Partners, SWECO and B&M to develop the design proposals for the project.
The project is to be completed in a phased manner with the Sixth Form Centre due for handover in October 2023.
