Morgan Hone Wins AJ Student Prize Award 2019
We are extremely pleased to announce that Morgan Hone, Architectural Technician at Clague, has won the national Sustainability Prize for his Part 2 thesis ‘Growtown’.
The judges celebrated Morgan’s work for his “excellent judgement and an architectural solution that is appropriate to the problem needing to be solved.”
‘Within the submissions, there are many schemes that perhaps do too much, showing that architects always have the desire to make monumental projects. This scheme, on the other hand, is notable for its reticence.’
They added: ‘The project is commendable for its judgement of social sustainability and creating a viable proposition for getting people back to work.’
The Sustainability Award is a new category launched in 2019 for the AJ Student Prize. Morgan was awarded first place against 93 other submissions representing all 51 RIBA accredited schools in the UK.
Morgan joined us in 2016 after his Part 1, and continued to work with us throughout his Part 2. We're very proud of Morgan for his outstanding achievement, and now look forward to helping him through his Part 3 and onto becoming a chartered architect.
