MP’s support for 112-home scheme
The 112-home scheme is located on a 12 acre site along the A257. The scheme will be providing a mix of accommodation, including 30% affordable homes and also aims to address the district’s need for more homes. The village green would set the development back from Sandwich Road and is aiming to create a more viable 'village centre'. MP for Ash, Craig Macinlay said in an interview with the Kentish Gazette, ''the prospect of new homes would breathe more life into the village, ensuring existing amenities like the shops and the pub didn’t die off.'' Adding “It would add a critical mass to the shops and potential for the Chequers Inn to reopen.
