The scheme involves the partial demolition, conversion and restoration of a collection of commercial cottages dating back to the 1700's, situated around a courtyard. We are proposing to convert the existing commercial units into 5 residential dwellings of various sizes. To contrast the disorganised fenestration of the existing buildings within the courtyard, we are proposing a simple and crisp intervention which doesn't compete with the existing. It has been designed to reflect the industrial heritage of the site.
