Planning Received for 4 Bed Bespoke Home with Annexe in Broadstairs
We are pleased to share that our proposals for a new bespoke 4-bed family home in Broadstairs have been granted planning permission by Thanet District Council.
The site, on North Foreland Avenue, had very few technical constraints but plenty of design opportunities with fantastic long views out over the North Sea. We were excited to work very closely with the family, understanding their specific needs and patterns of living, to help them to turn their aspirations into a working design.
As well as a generous 4-bedroom detached home, the family also wanted an annexe at the rear of the property to provide extra separate accommodation, and plenty of garage parking. The maritime context suggested a very clean contemporary approach to the design, with the elevations in white smooth-faced render and feature glazing throughout to make the most of the sea views.
The interior has been designed to reflect the client's aspirations for a grand feeling of space; double height volumes and open plan ground floor living create an excellent open relationship with the private garden to the rear and the dramatic views to the east. We were pleased to be able to work so closely with the family in developing an interior that achieved not only the quantity of space they needed, but the overall quality of space that they desired.
We now look forward to working more with the family over the next few months to bring their new home to life.
