Eurotunnel Passenger Terminal, Folkestone

On 17th September 2012 Eurotunnel inaugurated its newly refurbished and improved 5000 m2 Passenger Terminal Building in Folkestone.

After 20 years, the building needed a make-over. Dedicated to the ten million passengers who travel each year with Eurotunnel Le Shuttle from Folkestone to Calais, this hub equals the highest international airport standards.

The area offers a wide range of wines, spirits, perfumes and luxury goods, a specialist shopping area with a Travelex exchange bureau and WHSmith for newspapers, books and magazines, as well as a food court.

The entrances and toilet areas have also been improved to increase the ease of access for disabled passengers and is in line with the company’s environmental approach to reduce the consumption of water and energy.

To provide a more convivial atmosphere, the Terminal has been renamed the “Victor Hugo Terminal”, to clearly identify it as the gateway to France.
