Tenterden High Street

The site is situation to the rear of the Embassy Cinema, at the North East end of Tenterden between the High Street and a rear public car park. The proposal comprises a mixed use development contributing to the diverse range of businesses in the locality.

The angle of the new buildings provide a visual link through the development from the High Street.

The use of roofs and eaves helps in uniquely defining the elevations with an overhanging roof where additional sun shading is required on south facing elevations, and irregular eaves heights reflecting the siting of the building.

Contemporary detailing and a bold use of glazing is used in the elevations facing the car park to provide a strong elevation to contrast with the more intimate spaces within the development.

The intimate nature of the courtyard within the development promotes a strong feeling of community, with through surveillance over the courtyard achieved through careful planning.
