The Elms Farm Barn

The Elms Farm Barn project involved the conversion of a Grade I listed barn and adjoining (now defunct) milking parlour, into a scheme for office and commercial use.

The proposal included conservation and repair of the oak frame as well as the insertion of mezzanine floors to create lettable space that could be used as four separate offices or as a whole. In contrast to the historic oak frame, new floors, contemporary staircases and other insertions were added, creating a diverse and charming aesthetic. In addition to this, Building Regulations were obtained for a high spec and highly serviced conversion.

The project was carried out by barn conversion specialists David Cox Restorations and was carried through on a speculative basis meaning that the client was able to secure a single tenant for the whole complex.
