Clague’s brief was to completely reorder the interior, whilst still maintaining the historic character of this magnificent property. This involved the construction of three extensions and two bay windows, one of which was a traditional polygonal bay window in the kitchen. Additionally, the design called for the replacement of the existing conservatory with a glazed garden room.

New services were installed, including subtle lighting features, modern networking facilities and underfloor heating. The sympathetic impact of these works was facilitated by a high standard of finish and detailing and particular attention was paid to the design of new joinery, including a new panelled entrance hall with secret jib-door all by the main the main contractor, Cox Restorations. After the initial project, Clague was again called upon to design a second phase of works involving a covered swimming pool for the property.
